Early American Pine Ladderback Cheesecutter Rocker-NY

Item # saf-001
Early American Pine Ladderback Cheesecutter Rocker-NY
This is one of two pine ladderback rocking chairs from New York State, from the early 1800's. This one has cheese cutter rockers that were joined and added early. It has a rush seat and joined double box stretcher. The arms have a lovely flare with turned back hand rests. Tops of backs show tall hat design with ribs below. Four slats joined in to back with early etched rings every 4" all the way to the rocker. Fine example of early 19th century workmanship with original patina. This is more of a mans chair, with a slightly deeper seat, and not as rockable as the other pine rocker I have listed. Chair measures 13 1/2" seat height, 40" to top of slat, 43" to top of uprights, seat measures 15" deep, 15" inside back, and 17" front. View View View View

Early Oak Cabinet

Item # saf-003
Early Oak Cabinet
This estate piece is lovely. Standing alone on a table or hanging above it, a wonderful cabinet for storing precious items, artifacts, or collections. This cabinet is made from oak, measuring 2' high by 16" wide and 8" deep. The original glass door is affixed by two brass hinges which are notched into the cabinet. The shelves are covered with an early wallpaper, and one shelf is cut out to allow a larger vase or container. In wonderful condition, this is from the early 1900's and would certainly be a wonderful addition to your home. View View

Early 19th Century French Boudoir Cabinet

Item # saf-005
Early 19th Century French Boudoir Cabinet
This lovely French cabinet is early 19th century, and comes from a New York estate. It is old pine with an interesting overlay of softwood veneer. The top drawer, with its curved front has the original brass pull, and the curved door below with one shelf has the original brass turn pull. The curves of the French transitional style are still much in evidence (the British equivalent is often called 'French Hepplewhite') and there is an emphasis on practical pieces such as washstands, dressing tables and bedside cupboards designed to conceal the chamber-pot. This piece is 13" deep, 22" across the back, and 28" high. This would be a perfect bedside stand, or featured in a front hall. View View View View View View
